YOUNG LIFE BIERA
This past month in Beira, Mozambique, with the vibrant Young Life community was truly transformative. Partnering once again with this remarkable ministry was both a privilege and a profound source of inspiration. Working alongside them was a powerful reminder of the incredible potential and resilience of Africa’s youth.

This past month we had the privilege of partnering again with the vibrant Young Life community in Beira, Mozambique. Working alongside this transformative ministry was a powerful reminder of the incredible potential and resilience of Africa’s youth.
If you havn’t been to Zambia, I would put it on yoru bucket list. The Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world and has been named one of the top “Seven Wonders of the World”. And fun fact it was named by the legendary David Livingston.
Plans, projects, and ideas are important; they give shape and structure to the work. But our efforts are meaningful in touching lives only insofar as we are able to offer a safe space for others.
A short Togo mission.
Our journey began with a serendipitous encounter with Justice Kwofi at an Action Sports Network gathering in Ghana back in December 2017.
This November marked the passing of three years since Jess and I moved to Baja. The time has flown by. Though most days it still feels like we are just getting started, sometimes we catch a glimpse of how far God has already brought us since the first year.
It seems that people are very confused about what happened. But we shouldn’t be. We want to encourage everyone or rather challenge you to read your Bibles. It doesn’t matter whether you believe in the Bible or not. This is the time to find out.
Eduardo Agostinho Macamo is a 25-year-old man from Mozambique who is passionate about learning English. He dreams of becoming a teacher and using his English skills to contribute to the development of his country.
It’s impossible to capture in just a few sentences all the parts that make a trip like this so impactful. There are of course the “Firsts”: the boys’ first time visiting the Sierra Juarez or climbing on granite, Nahum’s first time slacklining, Valdo’s first time sleeping in a tent …
Of all the places that deserve to have the title “the warm heart of Africa”. Zambia is definitely a worthy contender.
Due to the sensitivity of this matter, I can not divulge too much about the identity or information of the individuals I worked with while in the Middle East. But I do want to boast that partnering with these beautiful women has been one of my life’s most endearing and inspiring experiences.
My attention recently was captured by a documentary I saw on BBC about Domestic Abuse in Jordan. It is an issue we see around the world but especially in the Arab world. Domestic violence has increased dramatically with Covid when families were isolated at home. Jordan was the first Arab country to enforce a law against violence towards women in 2008.
Surf therapy combines surfing with structured individual or group activities as a means of therapy to promote psychological, physical, and social well-being.
This achievement for three of our Aleph students is an accomplishment. Especially in South African where only 6% of the population having university degrees, 6% had diplomas and 3.4% have technical and vocational education and training (TVET) certificates.
In early October I got to spend a week with 15 students that were a part of a local program called Pulse. Pulse helps underprivileged communities through a holistic approach by helping address their physical, emotional, metal and spiritual needs.
The Discovery Camp in Mozambique was one we will never forget. We stepped into Mozambican culture where song, dance and rhythm set the tone for each day.
